What to expect
No jump into cold water. You get a structured onboarding with a clear goal: working independently and, in the long term, passing the journeyman exam. No empty promise, but a concrete plan.
Structured onboarding
You start with tyre service, inspection and maintenance — under the guidance of an experienced colleague. Every task is explained, not just demonstrated. You learn the why, not just the how.
Step-by-step responsibility
Brakes, suspension, exhaust system — you grow with every task. As soon as you have mastered one job, the next one comes. Your pace, but with a clear direction.
First glimpses into diagnostics
You learn how XENTRY (Mercedes), ODIS (VW) and ISTA (BMW) work — step by step. Not on your own right away, but early on you understand what these systems can do and how diagnostics work.
Journeyman exam as a goal
External exam through the Chamber of Crafts after roughly 4.5 years of work experience in the automotive field. We accompany you on the way there — with practical knowledge, guild courses and the necessary support.
Teamwork instead of lone-wolf style
You work next to experienced mechatronics technicians and learn from them on the job. Asking questions is welcome here, not annoying. Those who ask learn faster than those who stay silent.
We train you — with a clear goal. Not as unskilled help, but as a future expert with a path to the journeyman exam as an external exam.
What you bring
No automotive qualification needed. Your drive counts more than your certificate.
- Craft skill. You have worked in another trade or technical profession and know how to handle tools. Locksmith, electrician, industrial mechanic, plumber — the foundation is there.
- Willingness to learn. You really want to understand how a vehicle works — not just turn bolts. If you sometimes watch YouTube videos about engine technology in the evening, that is a good sign.
- Reliability. You are there when you are supposed to be there. You finish what you start. Sounds obvious — unfortunately, it is not always.
- Interest in vehicle technology. Hobby wrencher? Own project in the garage? Even better. But it also works without that — if the curiosity is real.
- Driving licence class B. Vehicles need to be moved. Without a licence, that becomes difficult.
Honestly
A career change is no walk in the park. At the start you will not know a lot and have to learn many things from scratch. That is normal and no reason to feel uncomfortable. We invest time in you — and expect you to take that time seriously. If you bring that, you have a real chance here.
What we offer
Structured onboarding
No "just get on with it" on day one. You get a clear plan of what you learn when. Every week, a bit more responsibility.
Journeyman exam as a goal
External exam after roughly 4.5 years of work experience. We support you with practice, guild courses and preparation.
Modern diagnostic tools
You learn with XENTRY, ODIS and ISTA — systems that most independent workshops do not have. That makes your CV more valuable long-term.
Structured hours
Mon–Fri 07:30–16:30. No weekends. No shift work. You know when the workday ends — and you can rely on it.
Small team
Direct communication, personal attention. You are not a number here. If you have questions, you ask — and you get an answer.
Parking and location
Free parking directly in front of the workshop. 15 minutes to Northeim, 30 minutes to Göttingen. Rural, but well connected.
Your workplace
KFZ Dietrich in Hardegsen-Gladebeck, Meckelstraße 8. A master workshop focused on diagnostics, ECUs and vehicle electronics. Sounds like high-tech at first — and it is. But every workshop also needs people who master the basics and are ready to learn more.
The workshop is fully equipped: lifts, wheel alignment, AC service, tyre service. On top of that, the diagnostic systems XENTRY, ODIS and ISTA — which you come into contact with little by little. At the start you watch, later you join in.
The team is small. That means: everyone knows everyone, everyone helps everyone. You work directly next to experienced mechatronics technicians and learn on the job — not in a training room. Questions are welcome, not annoying.
Your fresh start begins not with an exam, but with a conversation. If the mindset is right, we find the path together.

Frequently asked questions
- No. You need a completed apprenticeship in a craft or technical trade — or demonstrable work experience in a related field. Ideally, you bring automotive knowledge as a hobby or interest. You learn the rest with us.
- You start with the fundamentals: tyre service, inspection, simple maintenance work. Under the guidance of an experienced colleague, you grow step by step into more complex tasks. The goal: you work independently and understand what you are doing — not just which bolt goes where.
- Yes. As an external exam through the Chamber of Crafts. For that you usually need 4.5 years of work experience in the automotive field. We support you on the way there — that is no empty phrase, but in our own interest. We want good people long-term.
- That depends on your prior experience and your learning progress. We talk openly about it — when we first meet. As your competence grows, so does your pay. That is fair and transparent.
- No. You start with simpler tasks because that makes professional sense — not because we are looking for someone to lug tyres. The goal is for you to work independently within a few months and develop towards the journeyman exam.
