Vehicle mechatronics technician (m/f/d) – diagnose, do not swap parts

You can do more than change brake pads. You want to understand WHY the warning light is on.

What to expect

You work with the same systems as the Mercedes, BMW and VW authorised dealers — but without the corporate overhead. With us you diagnose, instead of just swapping parts by list.

🖥

XENTRY/ODIS/ISTA diagnostics

You work with the original diagnostic systems from the manufacturers: XENTRY for Mercedes, ODIS for VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat, ISTA for BMW/Mini. No clones, no stripped-down versions. The same that sits in the authorised dealer.

ECU programming

Online coding, software updates, variant coding — directly on the manufacturer server. You program ECUs, flash firmware and configure control units after a swap or repair.

🔌

ECU cloning

Read out control units, back up data, transfer it onto replacement units. Nationwide mail-in service — you handle orders from all over Germany. Every ECU is its own puzzle.

📈

CAN-Bus analysis

Find communication faults between control units, check wiring paths, understand network topologies. Here, systematic diagnostics separates itself from guesswork. The oscilloscope and logic analyser are your tools.

🔐

Immobilisers

Key coding, ELV repair, immobiliser coding after ECU swap. Mercedes EIS/ESL, BMW CAS, VW Immo — for us this is everyday work, not a special case.

🔧

Complex vehicle electrics

Wiring harness repairs, signal tracing with the oscilloscope, fault finding on CAN/LIN/MOST buses. Systematic analysis instead of swapping parts on suspicion. You find the fault — not just the symptom.

What you bring

We do not expect perfection — but real interest in what happens under the bonnet.

  • Journeyman certificate as a vehicle mechatronics technician or a comparable qualification. Master certificate is welcome but not a condition.
  • Real interest in electronics and diagnostics. You do not have to know everything — but you have to want to learn. If blinking warning lights make you curious instead of annoyed, you fit in here.
  • Careful working style. With ECU programming there is no "it will probably work". A wrong click can render a control unit unusable.
  • Driving licence class B. Test drives and moving customer vehicles is part of daily life.
  • German skills sufficient for customer communication and documentation. You have to write diagnostic reports and be able to explain to customers what you have found.

Honestly

If you mainly want to do oil changes and brake pads, you are in the wrong place. But if you are keen to find a faulty sensor in an oscilloscope signal before the second coffee goes cold — then let us talk. No experience with manufacturer diagnostics? No problem. If the interest and the fundamentals are right, we will show you the rest.

What we offer

🖥

Manufacturer diagnostics

XENTRY, ODIS, ISTA — systems that most independent workshops do not have. You work with the same tools as the authorised dealer.

🧠

Complex tasks

Cloning ECUs, analysing CAN-Bus, coding immobilisers. No day is like the other. Routine here exists only when making coffee.

Structured hours

Mon–Fri 07:30–16:30. No weekends. No shift work. On Friday you know when you start on Monday.

📚

Further training

Member of the trade guild: access to courses, manufacturer updates, inter-company training. Not at some point — regularly and during working hours.

🤝

Direct line

Small team. You talk to the boss — not an HR department. If something comes up, we sort it out immediately. No bureaucracy, no forms.

🆓

Parking and location

Free parking right at the door. 15 minutes to Northeim, 30 minutes to Göttingen. No city stress, no traffic jams.

Your workplace

The workshop is in Hardegsen-Gladebeck, Meckelstraße 8, directly on the B446. At first glance, a normal independent workshop in southern Lower Saxony. At second glance: three manufacturer diagnostic systems, an ECU lab and orders from across Germany.

Our focus is on the work that other workshops cannot or will not do: ECU cloning, immobiliser coding, hunting down CAN-Bus faults, systematically solving complex electronic problems. On top, of course, come the classic workshop tasks — but the core is diagnostics and electronics.

The team is small. That means: you are heard, you get responsibility, and you see directly what your work achieves. It also means: everyone pitches in when needed. Hierarchy here exists only on paper — what matters is who finds the solution.

Equipment: lifts, wheel alignment, AC service, tyre service. On top, the diagnostic equipment: XENTRY access for all Mercedes model series, ODIS for the VW Group including online coding, ISTA for BMW/Mini. Oscilloscope, multimeter, CAN-Bus interface. Everything you need for serious diagnostics is there.

How to apply

No cover letter, no CV upload, no online portal. Just get in touch.

  1. Short message

Write us on WhatsApp, by email or call. No cover letter needed — just tell us who you are and what you are currently doing.

  2. Get to know us at the workshop

We show you the workplace, the diagnostic systems and the team. You see right away how we work — no job interview in a conference room.

  3. Trial day

Spend one or two days working and diagnosing together with us. After that, we both know whether it fits. Fair on both sides.

Absolute discretion: Your current employer hears nothing. We contact no one without your explicit consent. Only when you have decided.
